Join Dads Club Today!
Dads, granddads, uncles, stepdads & father-figures — you’re invited!
We’re a proud and very active Dads Club at Cannon Elementary. No dues, no experience, no big time commitment — just a good group of guys showing up for our kids, our teachers, and our school (and having a blast doing it).
Best known for our Door Dads program — every Friday morning we open car doors in the carline, give teachers a break, and send our scholars into the day with a high-five. But that’s just the start.
Here’s what we get into:
- Door Dads — Friday mornings we work the carline, open doors, and set kids up for a great end to the week.
- Parade of Lights float — we design and build Cannon’s float for the Grapevine holiday parade. Every GCISD Dad Club competes, and we’ve won 6 of the last 8 years. Dads who pitch in — time, supplies, or funds — earn their kiddo a spot to ride the float.
- School events — Bike & Roll to School Day, Field Day, STEMapalooza, holiday food drives, and whatever else the PTA and Cannon have going on.
- Spring campout — our annual Dads Club campout at Meadowmere Park on the lake.
- Helping hands — moving, building, carrying, fixing… whenever teachers or the school need muscle, we show up.
- Monthly hangs — casual meetups at local restaurants to get to know each other.
Every event is come-if-you-can, stay-as-long-as-you-like, and kids are always welcome. So… sign-up, join our GroupMe to stay in the loop, keep an eye on your email, and come say hi. Here’s to a great school year!
